First Kargo Light Electric Vehicles of Précicad Delivered at Alouette

Sept-Îles, August 11th, 2009 - Aluminerie Alouette is proud to announce the delivery of the first five electric vehicles at its installations on August 6th.

These vehicles have been assembled at Le Mineur installations in Sept-Îles, partner with Précicad for this project. This first vehicle delivery is the realization of a project in which several Alouette employees were involved, throughout the prototype tests.

These vehicles were designed for an industrial use. Lighter than any other comparable vehicle in the industry, they resist corrosion and have an autonomy of forty kilometres. They can be used as much for material or passenger transportation.

Four other units will soon be delivered. Over the next years, Alouette plans to purchase additional vehicles for its plant-wide operations. The design and assembly of these aluminium electric vehicles come from initiatives taken in job creation in the aluminium transformation field. Aluminerie Alouette is proud to be associated to this success.
